My top 5 must-visit places in Singapore
Despite having traveled to Singapore countless times, these are the places I always come back to when visiting The Lion City.
Singapore is one of my favorite destinations to visit. Singapore is a short flight from Vietnam, and really is the heaven for food and shopping. Having traveled to Singapore many times, these are the places I always come back to when visiting The Lion City.
- Orchard Road
With a shopaholic like me, Orchard Road definitely makes it to the top of my must-do list in Singapore. This famous road is only 2km in length but is a shopping heaven with thousands of brands, from Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, Gucci to local brands, and even the pretty little souvenir shops that I always could not resist. So be sure you are at your best both physically and mentally when you visit Orchard Road, otherwise, you’re gonna stuck here for a pretty long time with a hole in your pocket!
Ion Orchard is the biggest and most expensive shopping center here. Ngee Ann City has Takashimaya and the biggest bookstore in Singapore – Kinokuniya. On this road, you can find many local brands and good restaurants, too.
- Clarke Quay

A famous neighborhood of colorful colonial buildings, Clarke Quay is a favorite area among Singaporean youths for eating, shopping, and even having a drink by the river. If Clarke Quay by day is the most Instagrammable neighborhood, Clarke Quay by night is the nightlife hub of Singapore with waves of tourists crowding the bars. I recommend Yin Bar for its cool architecture and diverse menu.
- Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay is a gorgeous architecture complex you must visit in Singapore. This is a real-life fantasy world stretching over 101 hectares with a balance between nature and modern architecture. Once you set your first step on the Bay, you will be overwhelmed with futuristic design and technology. Gardens by the Bay is divided into 3 areas with different themes. I especially like sky walking here with the amazing view of the Gardens by the Bay from high above.
- Sands SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands
If you are not afraid of height, you definitely should go to Sands SkyPark Observation Deck in the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands. From here you can see all over the city, from the promenade, the pier, and the skyscrapers. The most amazing time to visit Sands SkyPark is during the sunset. If you stay for longer, you can even have the chance to see the Light and Water show from above!
Tickets to Sands SkyPark is about S$23 for an adult and S$17 for a kid under 12. This venue opens from 9:30 to 22:00 daily.
- Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade

This is the walking street along Marina Bay, where you can see Singapore’s skyline, chill out, or enjoy the Light and Water show at night. At times, you can also see live outdoor performances from famous artists here. I like to go here during the sunset, the most romantic time for couples.
Here you can also visit Gardens by the Bay and ArtScience museum through the Helix bridge.
