A journey with Louis Vuitton Cruise 2022

I genuinely enjoyed watching the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2022 at Axe Majeur in Paris last year. An architectural monument in harmony with water, light, wind, sand, concrete, stone, and steel, was chosen to be the setting of this collection, guiding the audiences into a world of the future. It was immediately a show to remember!

Cruise collections are usually meant for exotic vacations, with frilly dresses and bathing suits. This Louis Vuitton Cruise collection is very different, with incredibly bold texture and colors. Nicholas Ghesquiere did not have space for any bikini or maxi dresses, instead, he introduces padded jackets, pants with the padded quilting of spacesuits, skirts and pants with feathers. Bold and striking choices!

Above all, what I am most impressed about this collection was its optimism about the jubilance of an unseen future world. With such spontaneous textures and silhouettes, Nicholas Ghesquiere asserts a premise of a world where the boundary between humans and nature does not exist, and the universe is filled with awaiting adventures, where the only passport you need is creativity.
